Value Grid
I learned about the different types of pencils, as well as how much pressure to apply when giving value. Five Spheres I learned how to create form when adding value; this creates a 3-D affect. Textured Spheres This was similar to the project before. Except this one was focused on different techniques, and how they add different textures. Half Magazine, Half Drawing I cut out half of an object from a magazine, and I drew the other half. Textured Cubes I followed along with a video that taught how textures look different when there is value applied to them. Wooden Textures I attempted to take a real life wooden object, and tried to draw the wood grain as realistic as possible. Metal Textures I attempted to do the same with the wooden texture, but tried to apply this to metal. Instead of following a wood grain; I was focused on creating a smooth texture, and add contrast between the highlights and the shadows. Glass Textures This was the most challenging of the textures so far. I focused on the organic shapes of the reflected light in order to create a glass look. Fabric Textures I focused on the folds of the fabric, as well as the smooth texture it has. It was important to pay attention to the gradual value it has rather than sharp contrast. Fake Flower Texture I drew the outline of the flowers and leaves, and added value based on how the light hit it. Skull Charcoal Drawing I drew the rough contour of the skull with charcoal, I covered the whole paper with charcoal, and then I added highlights and darker shadows with white and a softer charcoal. Statue Charcoal Drawing I drew the rough outline and applied overall shade on the first day. The second day I added more shade and added the highlights, finishing it. Oil Pastel Techniques We followed along to a video and learned three different techniques. Close Up Objects I took pictures of random objects, and took them from various angles. Pastel Drawing The first three pictures was planning in my sketchbook. The rest are of my final. Final Ink Drawing The first two pictures was when I planned it out in my sketchbook. The rest are of my final drawing. Outside/Inside Drawing The first three pictures was planning in my sketchbook. The rest is of my final. Juxtaposition The first picture was planning in my sketchbook. The rest was my final drawing. |
