The goal with this project was to make a smooth texture, and add contrast with how the light reflected off of the surface on the object.
The goal with this project was to take a real life wooden object, and to attempt to add a wooden texture to it. This was done by following the wood grain of the object, and to add value to make it look as 3-D as possible. The elements and principles used were texture, value and contrast.
The goal with this project was to be able to draw the other half of a picture realistically by adding lightness and darkness. I feel I achieved this more with the second picture, rather than the first. The elements used was value.
This was similar to the Five Sphere project by adding values. But rather then using the same technique for each sphere, I used different techniques. They were: Hatching and Cross Hatching, Blending, Rendering, Random Lines, and Cross Contour Lines.
This was similar to the value grid, except applying different values to achieve form. I achieved this by having a highlight, a cast shadow, a horizon line, and different values added to the form itself. I did this with five different pencils: 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, and 6B.
I learned about the various kinds of pencils and what different types of led do. I also learned how much pressure to apply when using different pencils in order to achieve the correct value.
